DIR helps businesses identify custom energy efficiency measures and develop cost-effective energy retrofit solutions. The way to get started is with an audit or benchmarking.
ASHRAE Energy & Water Audits
Energy audits are the first step to optimizing your building’s energy use. During an energy audit, a trained engineer visits your building, identifies potential energy-saving improvements, and recommends energy cost-saving opportunities. Water audits entail analyzing all water systems including chilled water systems.
Portfolio Management
Managing energy use across a portfolio of buildings or campuses is a challenge. However, the payoff is significant savings when effectively managed. DIR’s experience from mechanical rooms to boardrooms enables us to identify savings opportunities in your buildings to optimize energy costs and use across your entire portfolio.
Funding
DIR has extensive experience working with energy efficiency programs nationwide. We help companies develop a project scope, perform energy analysis, and provide documentation to secure and maximize utility incentives and other applicable funding.
DIR can identify project financing opportunities such as Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE), on-bill financing, grants, rebates, and other incentives offered by local utilities or outside programs.

Owner’s Representative
Get peace of mind throughout your project with DIR’s implementation support services. Acting as an owner’s representative, you will receive independent and objective feedback and oversight. We’ll evaluate and recommend the best implementation approach and project delivery option that fulfills design intent, schedule, and budget.
Retro-Commissioning (RCx)
Retro-commissioning services are the best solution when you’re seeking low-cost results. The RCx process implements simple, low-cost (OpEx) improvements that are actionable, well-defined, and easily implemented with quick paybacks.
Design Build
DIR has a network of trusted design-build firms, contractors, and equipment vendors to facilitate implementation of your project from start to finish. DIR provides key technical expertise to ensure basis of design (BOD), owner’s project requirement (OPR), and energy performance goals are documented and understood throughout the entire project.
Verify
The final step to achieving energy and sustainability goals is verification. There may be some fine-tuning needed to optimize a new system. Monitoring energy post-installation provides insights into unexpected obstacles and helps you resolve issues before they become costly. And measuring is the only way to show your investment paid off.
Measurement & Verification (M&V)
