Building Decarbonization and Electrification

Date: 2021

Location: Brooklyn, New York

Project Phase: Energy Study

Project Details: Chilled water energy assessment and feasibility study of a commercial property. The purpose of this study was to identify opportunities to save energy, reduce CO2 emission, estimate project cost, and identify incentives to support the client’s sustainability goals and comply with New York City’s Local Law 97.

This project helped identify HVAC options to electrify the existing 1400 ton natural gas-fired absorption chiller plant with a more efficient all-electric system which would reduce the property CO2 emissions by 50% and make it eligible for a $2.5 million dollar incentive from Con Edison.

DIREES offered the following electrification and decarbonization consulting services.
